Game nights

Game nights on Thursdays in Bar Vakiopaine starting at 5PM, you can find us usually on the 2nd floor.

If Vakiopaine is hosting an event that requires you to buy a ticket, we move the game night to Ylä-Ruth or Sohwi. Both places are within a few hundred meters of Vakiopaine. If you are visiting Jyväskylä, but can't make it to the game nights don't hesitate to contact us using the mailing list.

Up-to-date information about the game nights can be found from our Discord

We also play occasionally on other days. Information about these game nights can be found from the mailing list, but it is in finnish so please send an email or ask around in Discord if you want to visit us!

Players of all levels are welcome!

What is Go?

Go is a board game for two players. The goal of the game is to surround territory from the board. Go is popular in Asia where it has a rich history and professional players. It is unknown when exactly Go was devised, but it is at least 2500 years old. This makes Go the oldest board game in the world that is still actively played.
